Image of Ursula
URSULA: EDB 3/01, black, short hair
Ursula came to Happy Tails in 2002. She was abandoned in a carrier with a kitten, and had clearly been abused. She spent a little time in a foster home, and is pretty content to live at our Adoption Center and to be left alone. She likes her head petted, and her cheeks scratched, but she cannot handle having her body petted. She can be enticed to play occasionally and it is clear that she likes toy mice, toys with feathers, and chasing the light from a laser pointer. She will need lots of patience and loving care. But, she deserves that, and you may deserve the love she will provide in return the right person. If you have the right temperament to give her a warm, secure home, please come in to meet her.

Image of Velvet
VELVET: EDB 6/07, black, medium hair
Velvet appeared in the backyard of a Happy Tails volunteer just a few days short of giving birth. She was an excellent mom and her kittens have all found homes. Now she is at the Adoption Center looking for her own home. She is a very feisty little girl, but she likes people and doesn't seem to be afraid of much of anything. We think she's pretty cute and really funny—we hope you will too and will find room in your heart and your home for her.

Image of Wanda
WANDA (Formerly Figgy): EDB 6/00, brown tabby w/white, short hair
Wanda was adopted from Happy Tails when she was about a year ago. Unfortunately her owner died and the family wasn't able to keep her, so she came back to the Adoption Center in June 2008. She is used to being an only cat, and used to being the princess of the household and treated accordingly. She doesn't seem to mind the other cats at the Center, but she would probably prefer to be an only cat. She is used to sleeping at the foot of the bed and having a human companion all day long – she is very nice and easy to get along with. If you are looking for a companion that will improve your life, but not be too demanding – Wanda is your girl!

Image of Washay
WASHAY: EDB 5/99, calico, medium hair
Washay came into Happy Tails in early May 2008 with her friend, Socks who she h as lived with since she was a year old. Their owner was moving out of the State and unable to take them with him. They are very sad and miss him a lot, but are grateful to still have each other, and we want them to be adopted together so they can stay that way. Washay is quite a pretty cat, a little shy, but very loving. She is not quite as outgoing as her friend, but she loves people and attention. Anyone would be lucky to have these two lovely girls in their home.

Image of Willow
WILLOW: 7/07, brown tabby w/white on face, short hair
Willow lived with an older, disabled woman who had a lot of cats, and found she could no longer take care of them all. Willow had a litter of kittens. A kind neighbor found homes for all of the kittens, and made arrangements for Willow to joint Happy Tails. She is a little tiny thing, and just as cute as can be. She is kind of quiet, but not really scared. She likes to be petted and is grateful for attention, and is ready to be taken care of after being a doting and responsible mother. Please give her a chance to be your new friend.

Image of Winchester
WINCHESTER: EDB 3/5, black, short hair, FIV+
Winchester is a Happy Tails favorite. He has a wonderful disposition, loves people, and gets along really well with other cats. He is very distrustful of dogs, however, and gets a little aggressive with them—so we recommend that he be adopted in a home without dogs. He is extremely affectionate and very well adjusted and will adapt to a new home very quickly.

Image of Zack
ZACK: EDB: 7/07, black and white tuxedo, short hair
Zack was been a very elusive cat for a few weeks before he arrived at Happy Tails in early August 2008. He was spotted near the Sacramento River by Happy Tails volunteers. They were pretty sure he was friendly, but he wouldn't let them near him, and kept hiding. They went back many times because they didn't want to leave him there fending for himself, and were finally successful in catching him. They were right about him being friendly. He was out of his cage and interacting with people and the other cats within hours of reaching the Center. He will be a great addition to your family—come by and meet him.

Image of Zeno
ZENO: EDB 7/00, orange, short hair, declawed, FIV+
Zeno came to Happy Tails in July 2007. He was found as a stray on the street. He was pretty beat up from living on the street. Since he is declawed, he had no way to defend himself; and since he is FIV+, his resistance was pretty low, so it took a while to get him healthy and up to speed. He is a very outgoing cat, friendly and likes attention, and will let you know when he's not getting enough. He still looks a little battered with scarred and scruffy ears. He does have some health issues that will be with him forever, and his “forever home” will need to be committed to keeping up his special diet, and quarterly trips to the veterinarian to assure that he is not losing ground. He is not on any medication, but does require subcutaneous fluids 3-4 times a week. These are very easy to administer and anyone can learn how to do it. So, if you are up for the challenge of this wonderful cat, come in and meet him. His gratitude will be a reward in itself, and his purr is the icing on the cake.
