EBONY: EDB 4/2/06, black, short hair
Ebony came to her foster mom at two days old, with her sibling, Mia, and was raised as a bottle baby. She is shy around strangers, but loves people she knows. She gets along with cats (dogs are unknown). She would be better suited for a home without children. She is very loving and loves to get affection from you.

EDDIE SNOWFLAKE: EDB 8/15/07, brown tabby, short hair
Snowflake was accidentally trapped by a friend of Happy Tails trying to trap older cats for spay and neutering. He was about four months old, and too young to leave out on his own even after neutering. He was so scared it was hard to tell if he was feral or just scared and our friend named him Fang. He was brought to a Happy Tails foster home with other kitties and children who named him Snowflake. After those kittens were adopted, he moved to another foster home and it has taken months to get healthy and to get social. At first, he wouldn't even play with other kittens. He now likes other cats a lot, and once he warms up to you, he really loves people – but he still cringes every time he's approached unless he knows you really well. At present, that mostly still means his foster mom. He needs to go to a home where there are other shy or quiet kitties or one cat and with someone who is willing to give him time to trust. Once he feels secure and knows he can trust you, he is just the sweetest little guy and very affectionate. He needs a new name. His real personality is somewhere between Fang and Snowflake. So, please give him a chance, and then you can give him the appropriate name.

ELLA: EDB 5/03, brownish grey tabby, white face, short hair
Ella came to us from a feral colony. She was very scared and hid for months and we had a hard time touching her. The feral coordinator for Happy Tails found her in one of our colonies and thought she was to sweet and gentle to survive out there with the wild kitties, so she brought her into the Center. She has come a long way—she's still somewhat scared, but we can pet her, and she likes it. She would be a wonderful cat for someone with time and patience to gain her trust, and give her the space she needs to come the rest of the way out of her shell. She's a sweet, dainty little girl who needs a chance to thrive and blossom. Maybe you are the right person.

EMILY MAY: EDB 2/98, grey/black tabby, short hair
Emily May was a Happy Tails cat about eight years ago and went to a foster home with her friends, Albert, and Ernie. In fact, she may be their sister, but the old records aren't complete enough for us to say that for sure. The foster parent didn't adopt them, but didn't ever return them. In July 2008, circumstances in her life forced her to give them up, so they are now back in our care. Emily May is pretty shy, and she's much happier and feels more secure when she's around Albert and Ernie. We are not requiring that she be adopted with them, but, If anyone had room in their home and their hearts for 3 older cats, Albert and Ernie would love to have Emily May with them in their new home.

FANNY: EDB 7/05, grey tabby, short hair
Fanny was found in the town house complex of a Happy Tails volunteer. Her family had moved and left her behind and she was waiting patiently on the doorstep for them to come back for her. The neighbors eventually started feeding her, but still she waited. Our volunteer couldn't stand seeing her in such a sad state so brought her to our Adoption Center. She had been well taken care of and was already spayed. She is adjusting to the Center and is a friendly, confident cat, but not overbearing. She loves her chin rubbed—and would like you to be the one to restore her confidence in people.

GARFIELD: EDB 10/03, orange tabby, short hair
Garfield is new at Happy Tails as of July 2008. He was brought in by the employees of a local printing company who have been diligently trapping, spaying and neutering stray cats on their property. They have found homes for all of them and thought they were done, and then discovered Garfield. He turned out to be very friendly and was already neutered. So, they asked if we would take him in. He's a very gentle, friendly guy. He has obviously been around people and lived in a home at one time. He's been on his own for quite a while, and would really like someone to take him in and take care of him now. You will be quite taken with him – so come into meet him.

HARRIET: EDB 7/02, brown/grey tabby, with white tip on tail, short hair
Harriet came to Happy Tails in the summer of 2007. Her family moved out of state and left her and another cat behind in the neighborhood. A very nice couple realized they were abandoned and got them to us. The other cat was adopted right away. But Harriet has taken a while to find the right home. She was pretty angry the first few months she was with us, but she has finally mellowed out and has learned to live cooperatively at the Center. We do think she would probably be happy without other cats and to have a family just to herself. We don't know if she likes children or dogs, so a quiet place might be best for her. But she is a nice girl and with some security and and trust, she will be a wonderful pet. She is the only tabby in our Center that has a white tip on the end of her tail, so she's easy to spot. Please come in to meet her and see if she's the right kitty for you. She has a lot of potential and a lot of character.

HATTIE: EDB 4/05, black and white tuxedo, medium hair
Hattie came into Happy Tails in late April 2008, with her three 8-month old male "kittens". The boys have all found foster homes, and Hattie is living at the Center since their owner was evicted from her home. She is a friendly, sweet girl and very pretty. She is adjusting nicely to her new digs, and is eager to find a new home where she can be treated and spoiled as she deserves to be after raising that family of boys. Come in and see for yourself what a great cat she is.
