Image of Lewis
LEWIS: EDB 2/00, black, short hair
Lewis is an interesting cat, and will need someone with patience to put up with some of his idiosyncrasies. He is a little shy with people, and has a special relationship with his bed and his stuffed animal that is a little noisy sometimes. We think if he had a home and his own people, that some of his need for love and attention would be fulfilled. But he is a sweet guy and doesn't really bother anyone, you just need to have sympathy for his own peculiarities and let him be.

Image of Lily
LILY: EDB 4/03, tortie, short hair
Lily has a little bit of an attitude and is a little unpredictable. She has always been temperamental, but is mellowing over the last few months, and can be very sweet sometimes. She is a challenge, but we think she's worth it. Come in to meet her; you might be the person to win her over. And...she is very cute!

Image of Loreli
LORELI: EDB 8/04, orange, long hair
Loreli was found in a senior complex when she showed up at the front door of an older lady who befriended her. The woman is pretty certain that Loreli's owner died and the family just left her behind when they made arrangements for the owner's belongings. She is a beautiful cat, she's still a little scared, but she likes to be petted and talked to. Once she is in a secure home again, she will be a great pet. You won't be able to look into her pretty green eyes without falling in love with her.

Love
LOVE: EDB 3/05, black, short hair
Love is a beautiful, sleek black cat. She was found as a lost and small kitten in someone's back yard when she was two months old, and a good Samaritan brought her to Happy Tails. She gets along well with other cats, and at one time she got along well with dogs—but it has been a couple of years since she's seen one, so she might need some adjustment time. She's a little shy around people, but warms up when allowed to do so in her own time and way. She is famous around the Adoption Center for being able to get her collar off—she is known as the only black cat without a collar. That is how we tell new volunteers to recognize her. We've never seen her take it off, but she gets it off during the first night after we put it on her – so she's good at magic tricks!

Lulu
LULU: EDB 4/00, dilute tortie, long hair
Lulu is a sweetheart with a hard-luck story. She was adopted from Happy Tails as a kitten. She was returned in December 2007 because her "parents" had divorced. She was left with the father and was apparently abused by him. The in-laws stepped in to rescue her, but couldn't keep her, so they returned her to us. It was then discovered that most of her teeth had been broken off, so she had to have most of her teeth pulled. She recovered from that and was adopted in a couple of months, but her new adopter, an older woman, had to return her in July 2008 because she could no longer give her the care she needed. Lulu has very long hair and needs daily brushing (which she loves), but when she came back this time, she was very matted. So we are slowly cutting out her mats and returning her to her beautiful self. She has been a little cranky during that process, but is generally a very sweet cat, despite everything she has been through. Her recent owner was very sad to give her up and said she had been a wonderful cat. She is not crazy about being around all the other cats, so we would like her to get a new, really permanent, home this time and soon. Please come in to meet her – she is such a pretty girl – you will fall in love with her.

Image of Maggie
MAGGIE: EDB 7/95, dark tabby, short hair
Maggie came into Happy Tails with her housemate, Duffy, and her littermate, Sammy, after their owner died. She is the shy one in the bunch, but really likes people, and is glad to still have her friends with her. Because she and Sammy have been together for 13 years, they need to be adopted together—they'd really like Duffy to come with them if possible, but it is not required. Maggie is a cute kitty and wants to be back in a home like she's used to. Take a chance on these older girls, and they will reward you with their love.

Image of Marguerite
MARGUERITE: EDB 11/05, brown tabby, short hair
Marguerite was picked up as a stray with a litter of kittens. She was kept in a really confined space for quite a while until someone asked Happy Tails to take her in. She was an excellent mother at her foster home, and she is now spayed and ready to go to a new home. She's a very confident and friendly little cat and has had not difficulty adjusting to life at the Adoption Center. She is a pretty little thing and she will steal your heart.

Image of Matilda
MATILDA

I'm a bit of a character. I can be totally affectionate (on my own terms) and will get along very well as long as you don't pet me around the base of my tail. I'm also fussy where I live. I want a home that doesn't have other cats or children living in it. I'm not sure about dogs. But give me that, and I will reward you with lots of love and affection...a few love bites if I have my way.)

I'm a good-sized cat, extremely smart, and I'd love to read the morning paper with you...that is, if you can read it with my body sprawled all over it. I'll complain loudly if you try to move me, but it's all growl for show.

Image of Max
MAX: EDB 10/02, buff, long hair, FIV+
Max is one of the most handsome boys at Happy Tails – he has long, fluffy buff colored hair with a black nose, and he is very dignified. He was not very friendly when he first joined us – he had been picked up as an abandoned cat in an apartment building – but he is a lot better now. He is not always crazy about other cats, so we recommend strongly that he be an only cat. He is particularly fond of men. So if one of you cat-friendly guys out there is looking for a nice companion – come in and meet Max. You'll be able to tell he likes you – he will jump right up on your lap and go to sleep.
