McGYVER: EDB 10/00, black, short hair
McGyver was found as a stray by a Happy Tails volunteer and brought into our Adoption Center in 2006. McGyver is a cat who will want to pick his own person. He is very friendly with some people, and won't give the time of day to others. If he likes you, he will sit on your lap and let you pet him forever, and purr to his heart's content. If he doesn't like you, well just don't worry about it – he won't have anything to do with you. He's still looking for the right person. How about coming in to our Adoption Center to meet him to see if you are one of the lucky ones?

MIA: EDB 4/06, tortie, short hair
Mia came to her foster mom at two days old, with her sibling, Ebony, and was raised as a bottle baby. She is shy around strangers, but loves people she knows. She gets along with cats (dogs are unknown). She would be better suited for a home without children. She is very loving and loves to get affection from you.

MICKEY: EDB 12/02, orange tabby, short hair
Mickey just came to the Adoption Center in April 2008. After a long journey from Colorado, he ended up as a stranded kitty with a pet sitter who happens to be a Happy Tails volunteer. He is a big boy with chubby cheeks that make it look like he is always smiling. He likes to jump up on high places, and to drink out of a full glass of water. He is a big talker and loves to use his scratching post. He must be adopted with his friend, Murphy. They aren't brothers, but they have been together a long time and would be lost without each other.

MIKEY: EDB 6/03: light orange and white, long hair
Mikey has been a Happy Tails cat before; he was adopted in 2007 and his owners apparently didn't want him anymore. We received a call from the SPCA that he was in their possession (they could tell by his microchip that he belonged to us) so we went and picked him up. He doesn't like the other cats very much, but he's great with people. As you can see, he is also gorgeous. Why don't you come to meet him and see if you are willing to provide him with a home that will be permanent, so he doesn't end up with another bad experience.

MIKEY: EDB: 7/30/04, grey and white, short hair
Mikey is a semi-feral special needs cat. He needs time to adapt and needs a special home in order to be adopted. He cries when he is adjusting to new homes and situations. He requires a cortisone (allergy) shot once a year. He loves other cats and needs a cat that loves to cuddle and will sleep with him. When his foster mom lies down in bed, he will come to her and love all over her as long as she doesn't approach him too quickly and she remains lying down. He head butts her hand and will lie on her or next to her wanting to be petted. He loves his belly rubbed and loves to go to sleep with her hand and arm around his belly up to his face. His new home would have to be willing to let him sleep in bed with them. He would be a great companion for another cat that really requires a lot of feline companionship. It would really have to be a very special home for him to be able to be placed.

MISS CALIFORNIA: EDB 11/05, brown and beige, short hair
Miss California came to Happy Tails in the spring of 2007. She and her two 3-week old kittens were saved from the County Animal Shelter by the founder of Happy Tails as they were on the way down the hall to be euthanized. She was a wonderful mother. She went to a Happy Tails foster home and shared a room with 3 other mothers and 12 kittens total. All the moms cooperated and took care of each other's kittens, but Miss California was the super mom. She is kind of an average looking kitty, and she is a little overweight, but she has a big heart. She just wants her own home and to receive the love she's given to everyone else. She is ready to share her life with someone who will love her forever.

MISS KITTY: EDB 12/03, dark tabby, short hair
Miss Kitty's adopted family was moving to a new town and their new life had a lot of commitments that were not going to leave them enough time to give to her, so they felt she would be happier in a new home where she could get the attention she deserves. She has the cutest face – you will fall in love with it. You will also need to be a little strict with her and put her on a diet – she has gotten a little heavy in the last couple of years. She is very particular about not having her tummy rubbed – but she will melt if you scratch her back at the base of her tail. She's a funny, sweet girl looking for a new home.

MISSY: EDB 7/07, Calico, short hair
Missy is a confident and friendly cat. She is a little tiny thing who showed up as a stray in the backyard of a friend of a Happy Tail volunteer. She likes to talk and likes to be petted. She is very comfortable around other cats and around people. She enjoys company. We don't know, but we suspect she is a lap sitter and will be a positive addition to your home.

MISTY: EDB 1/04, black and white, short hair
Misty's owner died and her family was unable to take her in, so they surrendered her to Happy Tails. She is a very sweet kitty, and used to being the princess in her home. She has not been around other cats very much, but she has adjusted to the Adoption Center very quickly. She is friendly and affectionate, and will be a wonderful addition to the right home.

MR. JOE

I'm a large flame-point Siamese sort of guy. I am looking for a cat-free home (except for me, of course) where I can have you all to myself. I've tested FIV-positive, but my prognosis is for a normal nine lives. I can be a bit of a couch potato if you let me, but really, I do move around. It's just that I'm four years old and very mellow.
