Volunteers are good Samaritans
Happy Tails volunteer Macy was working her shift as a police officer when she spotted a cat on the road. The female tortoiseshell was frantic and afraid after being hit by a car. Macy took her to Cherry Creek Vet Hospital where she was treated for multiple injuries, including a broken jaw. She had wires in her mouth during her recovery. Macy took the frightened feline to her home and nursed her back to health. After she recovered, a former Happy Tails volunteer heard the story of the cat now called "Canela" and adopted her. Our volunteers go that extra mile!
