How to Adopt a dog

Thank you for your interest in a Happy Tails foster dog! If you're interested in meeting one of our dogs, e-mail the Dog Foster Program Coordinator to arrange a time and location. Our adoption process includes an application, an initial meeting and a home visit. The adoption can occur after these steps are complete.

Happy Tails’ foster dogs are located in volunteer homes in the Sacramento area. Dogs are not currently housed at the Folsom Blvd. location. We work with adopters with home locations within an hour driving radius of central Sacramento. We do occasionally make exceptions for further distances, at the discretion of the program Coordinator and the foster.For more information on any of the dogs listed here or to schedule a meeting, please email dogs@happytails.org
