Max and Tala
ViewMax and Tala
My husband rescued 5-month-old Max in November 2002 from behind a dumpster. I rescued Tala in July 2003 after someone found her lying in the middle of a gravel road. Luckily, a cat person saw the 3 lbs. kitten before harm befell her! Based on Tala's lifelong behavior, she most likely thought the road was a good place to nap. Max and Tala bonded the same day we brought her home. Max was nurturing, and Tala flushed under his care. They did everything together until Tala died of cancer on March 29, 2018. Max passed from cancer on November 5, 2018, but I suspect from a broken heart too. I will forever miss Max and Tala. They were my companions, confidants, and comrades in life. I take solace in knowing they are keeping each other company in an afterlife filled with boxes, sunbeams, rattle balls, crinkle fish, and plenty of soft, warm places to sleep.
Dwight Harvey
ViewDwight Harvey
For my Dad, Dwight Harvey. He loved his Cats: Bear, Jumper and Tippy very much. He was a Father, a Veteran, a Nurse, a UC Berkeley Graduate, an Ornithologist, a trained Chef, an Orchid enthusiast, and a Children’s Book publisher. He devoted his life to saving animals at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife services where he worked for 25+ years getting animals in California listed as Endangered & Threatened species so they could be protected. I am very thankful for Happy Tails for taking care of his Cats and finding them good homes. I love and miss him very much.
Sylvester
ViewSylvester
A one of a kind cat (furry human) of 18 years who was loved dearly by my son Kevin and his wife Amy. Everyone who met him learned stories about his adventures chasing squirrels, chickens, and small dogs! He had quite a life growing up around young college friends. He went missing for a month but was just staying with a neighbor not too far away the whole time!
He definitely left a legacy and a place in Kevin and Amy’s hearts that can’t be replaced. He was a tough guy who grew into a mellow cat who loved laying in the sun outside. My son’s “boy”….Safe journey, Sylvester.

Aldo Luna
ViewAldo Luna
It was one year ago today that our little Aldo passed away after having been ill. He was adopted from Happy Tails Pet Sanctuary as a kitten by our daughter in 2013 when she was attending Sacramento State University. Upon our daughter’s graduation, Aldo moved in with us in Southern California, becoming our third cat fur baby. When he joined our family, we gave him the middle name Luna. He eventually “came home” to the Sacramento area when we relocated to West Sacramento in 2019. Sadly, he took ill in November 2020, and he passed away on February 2, 2021. He was the sweetest, most loving little boy and we miss him terribly….as does his two older “brothers”. We love and miss you, little Aldo Luna!

Sylvia Giles

My Aunt Sylvia was a cat lover since I was born! She had a Siamese cat when I was little that would get on the fridge or counter and attack people as they walked by. Lol!! Her last cat love was Bananas a beautiful cat whom she loved. He would hang out with her while she was bedridden for several years and keep her company. I know Aunt Sylvia is in heaven back with her Siamese cat and her family waiting on Bananas. I love you Aunt Sylvia. Tell Dad hi!
